Before I got involved with anything to do with marketing and selling products online I was always a huge sceptic, working as a Software Engineer I just didn’t know where to start, it was a complete mind-shift from my day job. But I got so run down spending half my life in the car travelling to and from the office in rush hour, and the other half working on projects for other people that I had no passion for. I had to make a drastic change.
I did what I always do when I want to learn something new, I went straight to Youtube. I started watching videos about the various ways to earn money online. There seemed to be a few possibilities that kept coming up from selling stuff on Amazon, drop shipping and affiliate marketing. The main thing was I knew I needed something that wouldn’t take up huge amounts of my time, because I couldn’t let this take over my life. I didn’t have much spare time after all, but also, my wife just didn’t get it, she didn’t understand why I just couldn’t “be like everyone else”. Be happy in a “normal” job and retire at 70. But it wasn’t enough for me, perhaps I was having a midlife crisis or something, but I just couldn’t accept that this was my only option. I mean, she thought I was crazy, and I couldn’t bear to face her if all of this didn’t work out, using weeks of my free time, and spending our hard-earned money on what she saw as “just a pipe dream”. I was terrified of failure.
Anyway the Youtube algorithm did its thing and started showing me adverts from various business gurus. It was overwhelming really. I was being bombarded! I clicked on a few of these adverts and even got sucked in a few times and bought a couple of training courses. But they always turned out to be unrealistic where the earning potential just wasn’t there, or sometimes they needed me to do things that I saw as slightly scammy or deceptive, not something I could really get onboard with and feel happy doing long-term. I was trying to find a future, a new direction, not some kind of flash in the pan scheme.
This was when I saw yet another advert, but this time from a guy called Stuart. He seemed to be different somehow. Very straight-forward and matter-of-fact. I instantly clicked with what he was saying, and it also helped a bit that he wasn’t making me pay for anything! Just a series of videos with some information. So I gave it a chance as I had nothing to lose but an hour or two of my evening and, if it didn’t come to anything, I could just move on with my life.
The videos showed me that I had a choice, with different ways to start an online business, and the amount of knowledge was just incredible. So feeling inspired, I took up the training, and after spending time on the program, and seeing the success of so many members, I realised that this was worth pursuing, and I’ve achieved what I never thought was possible. In a short space of time, I’ve learned the ins and outs of online marketing and been able to create a website from scratch that earns me money 24/7.
I now have skills that will continue to serve me in my future online ventures. But here are some options that are also available to you.
